Jordan Brown – Voice / Piano
Jordan Brown holds a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Northwestern–St. Paul, and has built a dynamic career as a performer and teacher dedicated to vocal excellence, with a focus on cross-training singers in both classical and musical theater techniques. After graduating, Jordan continued voice training with sopranos Doreen Hutchings and Carla Thelen Hanson. He also participated in the National Association of Teachers in Singing (NATS) mentorship program under the mentorship of Dr. Nicholas Perna where he honed his skills in functional voice training.
In 2022, Jordan helped establish Rochester, Minnesota’s first opera company, The Hometown Opera Company where he created programs and educational outreach and collaborations with local schools. In addition to his work with Hometown Opera, Jordan has performed with Minnesota Opera and appeared in numerous church and community ensembles including the Cathedral Choir of Saint Paul, the Two Rivers Chorale, and Choral Arts Ensemble of Rochester. Most recently, Jordan performed the role of Gherardo in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and he holds numerous performance credits in both the opera and musical theater worlds as a director and actor.
Jordan is committed to expanding access to high-quality vocal education in his community and creating meaningful musical opportunities for singers of all backgrounds. As a teacher, he brings a well-rounded and inclusive approach to vocal training, helping each student develop technical skill, artistic expression, and confidence in their performances. His teaching philosophy emphasizes healthy, functional technique and stylistic versatility, aiming to equip students with the tools they need to sing expressively, communicate authentically, and pursue their individual goals, whether on stage, in the studio, or in academic and professional settings.
