Alessandro Tenorio-Bucci – Clarinet / Saxophone
Alessandro Tenorio-Bucci is a Chicago-area clarinetist, saxophonist, educator, and freelance musician. His work includes orchestral performance, chamber music, new music, concert band, rock, and blues.
He earned both his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in Clarinet Performance from DePaul University. During his studies, he worked with several respected teachers. These included Julie DeRoche, Larry Combs, Stephen Williamson, Wagner Campos, and Kathryne Pirtle.
From 2024 to 2026, Alessandro served as Second Clarinet with the Las Vegas Philharmonic. He earned the position through a competitive audition. His orchestral experience also includes the West Michigan Symphony and Quad Cities Symphony. He has also performed with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and Lake County Symphony Orchestra.
At the Lake County Symphony Orchestra, Alessandro served as guest principal clarinet. He toured with the World Ballet Company’s production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. Earlier in his career, he was an Associate Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. He performed under conductors such as Ken-David Masur.
Alessandro has a strong interest in contemporary music. He regularly performs with the Chicago Composers Orchestra. The ensemble focuses on music by living composers. He has also performed with Modern Reeds and the Chicago Clarinet Ensemble. These performances were under the direction of John Bruce Yeh.
In addition, Alessandro has participated in multiple world premieres. His musical interests also extend beyond classical music. He plays clarinet and saxophone with the rock and blues band Peaceful Dragon. He is also a longtime member of the Wheaton Municipal Band.
With the Wheaton Municipal Band, Alessandro has performed at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. He has also performed at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago.
Alessandro is a Leblanc/Conn-Selmer Artist. He performs throughout Chicago and the Midwest on clarinet, E-flat clarinet, bass clarinet, and saxophone.
Teaching is another important part of his musical career. He currently teaches through Harper College’s Community Music and Arts Center. He also teaches at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, Midwest Music Academy, and Conant High School. In addition, he maintains a private clarinet studio.
At American Music Institute, Alessandro brings his extensive performance and teaching experience to his students. He helps musicians develop strong technique, musical confidence, and performance skills.
