This summer, families across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs are discovering a smarter way to keep kids engaged, creative, and productive – through music. With its “Music in No Time” summer initiative, AMI is offering flexible Summer Music Lessons, an immersive Summer Music Camp, and the prestigious American Youth Chamber Orchestra (AYCO) Chamber Music Program, ensuring students stay inspired all season long.
Summer Lesson Packages
AMI’s Summer Lesson Packages (May 1 – August 31) are designed for flexibility and growth. Students can choose between 4–12 private lessons, making it easy to balance vacations while maintaining musical progress.
With instruction available both in-home and at AMI campuses, students of all ages and levels can explore instruments like piano, violin, voice, guitar, drums, and more, across genres from classical to pop and jazz. Chicago Summer Music Camp – July 13-17
Taking place July 13–17, 2026, in Hinsdale, IL, AMI’s Summer Music Camp welcomes musicians ages 5–18 for a week of hands-on learning and performance.
Campers dive into:
- Instrument exploration, music theory, and composition
- Improvisation, chamber music, and ensemble playing
- Daily performance opportunities to build confidence and stage presence

AYCO Chamber Music – Summer & Fall 2026
AUDITIONS for dedicated young musicians ready to take the next step, the American Youth Chamber Orchestra (AYCO) offers a dynamic Summer Chamber Music experience.
Students ages 7–18 study with world-class faculty from top conservatories such as Juilliard, Oberlin, and Berklee. Through weekly coaching sessions, ensemble rehearsals, and performance opportunities, participants develop:
