Ryan Koranda – Cello / Guitar / Piano

Ryan Koranda (cello/guitar/piano) is a native of Homewood, Illinois. Mr Koranda has professionally served both the Chicago suburbs and Chicagoland communities. He completed his bachelor’s degree in music from Illinois State University where he studied under Dr. Adriana Ransom. In addition, he also completed his master’s degree in cello performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University where he studied under Richard Hirschl. Ryan has been a member of the Southwest Symphony Orchestra, and currently plays in the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra. He has recorded for Electrical Audio in Chicago and was a featured cellist on composer Rob Ryndak recordings where Pacific Coast Jazz reviewed him in encompassing “a haunting cello sound”. Ryan maintains a private studio and teaches a large class of students at Down Home Guitars in Frankfort, Illinois. With a serious pedagogical passion, Ryan greatly enjoys teaching all ages and helping them achieve their lifelong goals through music. His students have performed in part of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra’s Rising Star Showcase, the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra, and ILMEA All-State orchestras.
