Jake Wark – Saxophone Instructor

Jake Wark is a saxophonist, educator, composer and improviser, originally from Rochester, New York. He received his Bachelor of Music in saxophone performance from Nazareth College, where he studied with Dr. Chisato Eda Marling and Dr. Paul Smoker. In 2014, he moved to Chicago to pursue a master’s degree in jazz studies at DePaul University under the instruction of Scott Burns.

Mr. Wark can be heard performing jazz and creative music as a leader and sideman in various groups in Chicago. His debut recording as a leader is scheduled for a 2016 release and features veteran musicians Phil Haynes and Drew Gress. He performs with the collaborative trio Four Letter Words, who released their debut CD, Blow, in October 2015 and can be heard regularly in venues throughout Chicago.
