Allie Chambers – Cello/Violin

Allie Chambers is a native of the Chicago suburbs. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in music education from Elmhurst College, where she studied with cellist Ed Moore. There she was a winner of the college’s concerto competition, performing the first movement of the Elgar Cello Concerto, among other solo pieces with the orchestra. Ms. Chambers has her teaching certificate in music education in IL, worked with both small group and full orchestra settings at public schools, and has experience teaching abroad. In addition to cello, Ms. Chambers has studied violin with Remus Badea, bass with Virginia Dixon, woodwinds, brass, percussion, and voice.

Ms. Chambers is currently principal cellist of the Elmhurst College and Community Philharmonic Orchestra and a member of the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra, where she has performed with esteemed musicians such as Christopher Martin, Ilya Kaler, and members of the Apollo Chorus. Ms. Chambers is pursuing her two passions of teaching and performing.
