Welcome to AMI
On behalf of myself and the entire faculty at the American Music Institute, I would like to invite you to become part of the musical community at AMI! We are committed to supporting music and the arts throughout the Hinsdale, St. Charles and the entire Chicago-land community, and hope that you will discover the benefits and joys of receiving a music education.
AMI has a variety of programs, events, and activities occurring throughout the entire year. In addition to private lessons and group classes for children, we also offer various programs for adults and teens. We offer private instruction in all instruments and all styles of music, and pride ourselves on the high-level of education we offer every student throughout the school.
Take a look through this packet to become familiar with some of the programs we offer at the school. Some of the programs offered at AMI include:
- Private Lesson Program
- Group Instructional Classes
- Coached Chamber Ensemble Courses
- The Preparatory Program
- The Conservatory Program (by audition only)
- “Little Mozart” Early Childhood Music Program
- Master Classes, Seminars, and academic Lecture’s throughout the year
We offer new/potential AMI students the opportunity to book an in-person meeting with a Director in order to learn more about the programs and opportunities offered at AMI. The meeting includes a learning-style assessment and evaluation for younger students, in order to best recommend programming. The Directors will be able to provide you with recommendations of which teachers they feel you or your child will be best suited to study with, as well as the programming they recommend you participate in to achieve your specific set goals.
Additionally, at the meetings you will receive information on American Music Institute, and the Director holding the meeting will be able to answer any questions that you may have regarding the programming at AMI. Please feel free to contact us to schedule a meeting at the school location you wish to attend.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing with you the joy of making music!
Sincerely,

Autumn Voakes
