The
Conservatory Program is by audition only, and is geared for serious-minded musicians. The Conservatory Program is designed to bring young musicians ages 10-18 years old to the next level of their musical education. It combines key elements within music education to develop students ability to prepare for a career or college-education in music. Fundamental elements include private instruction, group instructional classes, chamber playing, music theory, and music history.
Students attend their foundational classes on Saturdays for 3 hours (9am—12noon or 1pm—4pm), and attend a one-hour private lesson during the week. Students should expect to have 1-4 hours a week outside work, including practice time. All faculty members teaching within the Conservatory Program hold a Master degree or Doctorate in their given area of study; additionally, all faculty members are professional performing musicians with experience at the highest levels of professional classical music performance.
The following components are integrated throughout the curriculum of the Conservatory Program:
- Music Theory, Music History, and Music Literature
- Private Lessons on a specific instrument
- Students obtain the opportunity to learn music in a social and individualized environment
- Fundamental objective being to provide students a comprehensive music education
- Pre-collegiate education and study development
- Performance, Competition, and Recital Opportunities
The Conservatory Program is an accelerated program for serious-minded young musicians. Acceptance into the Conservatory Program is based on both merit and commitment aspects of the applicant.
