

Tsina Dorjderem – Violin/Viola/Piano
Tsina Dorjderem started her musical study at the age of six. After graduating from junior high school, she won scholarship to study in Russia. She studied with renowned pianist Jura Margulis, a host of “Russische Schule”, and an executive director of the International Piano Academy, a summer master class and music festival in Freiburg, Germany. She grew into an accomplished musician, and a teacher.
Ms. Dorjderem earned her Doctoral degree in Violin Performance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior coming to the American Music Institute, she taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a teaching assistant for three years. While at the University of Illinois, Ms. Dorjderem performed with many Mid-West symphony orchestras, and held positions such as concertmaster, co-concertmaster, and principal 2nd violinist with orchestras, and ensembles, such as New Music Ensemble, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; University of Illinois Opera Orchestra, Urbana, IL; Sugar Creek Festival Orchestra, Watseka, IL; Opera Illinois, Peoria, IL; Danville Symphony Orchestra, Danville, IL; Prairie Ensemble, Champaign, IL; Sinfonia da Camera at the Krannert Center, Urbana, IL; Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra, Urbana, IL. Ms. Dorjderem taught at Allerton String Chamber Music Symposium, Monticello, IL as a coach. She also coached section violins I, and II at East Central Youth Orchestra, Champaign, IL. While teaching at the University of Illinois, Ms. Dorjderem was nominated for "Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching at the University Illinois" award by her students. One of her students won full scholarship by her audition to pursue a degree in Music Education at the Eastern Illinois University who is now an orchestra teacher at a junior high school.
Prior coming to the University Illinois, Ms. Dorjderem earned her Master's degree in Violin Performance at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. While at the University of Arkansas, she won the "University Concerto/Aria Competition" twice. She appeared as a guest artist to perform Violin Concerto (first movement) by J. Sibelius with the University of Arkansas, and Poéme by E. Chausson with the Northwest Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. She also participated in International Festival Institute Chamber Orchestra, Round Top, TX in 2000 where she served as assistant concertmaster. Ms. Dorjderem participated in recordings with Ian Hobson and Sinfonia da Camera for Zephyr Productions Inc., and for the Classical Music for Dummies, II Edition in 2005, and 2003, respectively. Ms. Dorjderem's doctoral research topic is "Applications of the theory of segmentation and their impact on performance of Piece in Two Parts for Violin Alone (1964) by Stefan Wolpe."
