
Ryan Hobbs – Trumpet/Brass
Ryan Hobbs received his Bachelors Degree in Trumpet Performance from DePaul University in 2006 and then his Masters Degree in Trumpet Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2009. He is an active freelance trumpet player in Chicago performing all types of music from orchestral to musical theatre. He has performed with the Dubuque Symphony, Kenosha Symphony, Racine Symphony, Illinois Philharmonic, Lake Shore Symphony, West Suburban Symphony, West Suburban Chamber Orchestra, and the Classical Symphony Orchestra. Also, he has spent time performing in the pit orchestra’s around Chicago including runs of the “Ten Commandments”, “Meet Me in St. Louis”, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”, and “Gentleman Prefer Blondes”.
Mr. Hobbs was co-winner of 2008 Concerto Competition with UW-Milwaukee band department. Ryan has studied with Kevin Hartman, professor of Trumpet at UW-Milwaukee; Matt Lee, professor of trumpet at DePaul University; John Rommel, professor of trumpet at Indiana University; and Will Scarlett, former assistant principal trumpet of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
