

Carolyn Rundell – Cello
Carolyn Rundell began studying cello with Suzuki teacher Jean Johanasson. During her career, she has studied with celebrated Suzuki teachers such as Patrica D'Ercole, Jean Dexter, Rick Mooney, Pam Davenport, and Gilda Barston. She completed her BA at Illinois State University with an emphasis on cello and piano and her MA at University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. She has completed Suzuki teachers training for books cello books 1-4, Suzuki Early Childhood Education, and Kindermusik. Her Master research thesis was concerning music's effects on prenatal and infant brain development. She has played in many local symphonies including Elmhurst Symphony, Northwestern Philharmonic, Chicago Classical, and Peoria Symphony. In addition, she has attened music festivals in Italy and Germany.
Personal Statement
My teaching philosophy is that every child has talent and potential for greatness. I believe that through music children become more sensitive and appreciative to the beauty in the world around them. I hope to make each child feel sucessful at every lesson and will individualize lessons and materials for the needs of each child.
